On Monday, May 1, 2023, Prince Jean-Pierre IV of the Principality of Aigues-Mortes and Life President Yaroslav Mar of the Federal Republic of Lostisland met at the Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel.
This historic meeting marks the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two micronations, eight years after their rupture due to a conflict over societal issues such as the role of a religion within a State and the evolution of LGBTQ+ rights. The two micronational heads of state agreed that the resumption of diplomatic relations responds to the respective evolution of the two micronations on a large number of subjects.

This unexpected meeting between Prince Jean-Pierre IV and President for life Yaroslav Mar took many observers by surprise, who had not expected a possible reconciliation between the two camps. It is the end of a period of cold war between these two leading micronations in the world of micronations. This is a major event in the history of micronationalism which should encourage rapprochement between other micronations which had previously rallied either to the cause defended by Aigues-Mortes or by that defended by Lostisland.
As far as the two former belligerents are concerned, this change in their relations will allow commercial exchanges aimed at expanding the offer of products derived from the Principality of Aigues-Mortes for its online store. The Federal Republic of Lostisland would thus become its first commercial partner and supplier. Other poles of collaboration were envisaged between the two micronational heads of state during this meeting, but the two men did not wish to say more for the moment.
The meeting allowed President Mar to present a citation of merit to Prince Jean-Pierre IV and to his Chamberlain, Duke Olivier de Constance, who was given responsibility for the Foreign Affairs Department of the Principality of Aigues- Dead. Prince Jean-Pierre IV for his part issued an official invitation to the next Grand Bal du Godet d'Or to his counterpart in Lostisland. The next ball will take place in September 2024.
